Bioelectronics, an emerging discipline formed by the biology and electronic information disciplines, has maintained a state of rapid development since its birth. Amongst the various functional bioelectronics materials, bacteriorhodopsin (bR), with its directional proton pump function and favorable structural stability properties, has drawn wide attention. The main contents of the paper are as follows: Inspired by the capacitive properties of natural protoplast cell membranes, a new bio-capacitor based on bR and artificial nanochannels was constructed. As a point of innovation, microfluidic chips were integrated into our device as an ion transport channel, which made the bio-capacitor more stable. Meanwhile, a single nanopore structure was integrated to improve the accuracy of the device structure. Experiments observed that the size of the nanopore affected the ion transmission rate. Consequently, by making the single nanopore’s size change, the photocurrent duration time (PDT) of bR was effectively regulated. By using this specific phenomenon, the original transient photocurrent was successfully transformed into a square-like wave....
Ti3C2 nanosheet is a newly discovered two-dimensional (2D) clan. It turns out to have encouraging applications for electromagnetic shielding and energy storage. Here, Ag@ Ti3C2 hybrids are precisely synthesized by using the one-step solution processing method. Also, their ultrafast broadband nonlinear optical responses in the visible region are studied systematically through nanosecond open-aperture Z-scan and transient absorption techniques. The mechanism of twophoton absorption (TPA) is disclosed in the visible region (409–532 nm). When the laser energy is low and the wavelength is longer than 400 nm, nonlinear absorption cannot happen. Meanwhile, as the laser energy increases, two photons will be absorbed by the electrons in the valence band and the electrons will jump to the conduction band. The process is named as two-photon absorption which will make the specimen show reverse saturable absorption (RSA) properties. What is more, the ultrafast carrier dynamics of the specimen are studied by using the transient absorption. The result shows that the decay contains two phases: the fast and then the slow one. The two phases first come from electron–phonon and then from phonon–phonon interactions, respectively. The electron transfer and charge carrier trapping processes are further verified by the outcomes of similar measurements on Ag@ Ti3C2 hybrids. Besides, the two decay processes increase together with the pump fluence. These results show that Ti3C2 nanosheet has potential applications in broadband optical limiter....
Herein, Cu nanostructures are obtained by solid-state dewetting of 9 nm copper layer (dry) or by ablating copper target, using a nanosecond pulsed laser at 1064 nm, in acetone and isopropyl alcohol (wet). The Cu nanostructures are embedded in aluminum-doped zinc oxide layer. Then, the electrical, optical, and morphological properties of the two kinds of systems, as a function of their synthesis parameters, are investigated. The aim is to compare the two fabrication methods and select the main conditions to achieve the best system for photovoltaic applications. The main differences, exhibited by the wet and dry processes, were in the shape and size of the Cu nanostructures. Dewetting in nitrogen produces faceted nanoparticles, with an average size below 150 nm, while laser ablation originates spherical and smaller nanoparticles, below 50 nm. Dry system underwent to thermal annealing, which improves the electrical properties, compared to the wet system, with a sheet resistance of 103 vs. 106 W/sq, respectively; finally, the dry system shows a maximum transmittance of 89.7% at 697 nm, compared to the wet system in acetone, 88.4% at 647 nm, as well as in isopropyl alcohol, 86.9% at 686 nm. Moreover, wet systems show higher transmittance in NUV....
This paper presents a rigid-flexible composite of bionic hand structure design scheme solution for solving the problem of low load on the soft gripping hand. The bionic hand was designed based on the Fast Pneumatic Network (FPN) approach, which can produce a soft finger bending drive mechanism. A soft finger bending driver was developed and assembled into a human-like soft gripping hand which includes a thumb for omnidirectional movement and four modular soft fingers. An experimental comparison of silicone rubber materials with different properties was conducted to determine suitable materials. The combination of 3D printing technology and mold pouring technology was adopted to complete the prototype preparation of the bionic hand. Based on the second-order Yeoh model, a soft bionic finger mathematical model was established, and ABAQUS simulation analysis software was used for correction to verify the feasibility of the soft finger bending. We adopted a pneumatic control scheme based on a motor micro-pump and developed a human– computer interface through LabView. A comparative experiment was carried out on the bending performance of the finger, and the experimental data were analyzed to verify the accuracy of the mathematical model and simulation. In this study, the control system was designed, and the human-like finger gesture and grasping experiments were carried out....
A Mn‐ZnO nanowire microsphere was prepared by using the hydrothermal method. The effects of Mn doping concentration and hydrothermal growth conditions on the crystal structures, morphologies, magnetic and optical properties of ZnO nanowire microsphere were studied. The characterization results showed Mn‐ZnO nanowire microsphere with uniform and dense distributions along the [0001] direction with a hexagonal wurtzite structure. No impurity phases were detected in microsphere specimens. The room‐temperature ferromagnetism of the Mn‐ZnO nanowire microsphere was detected, with the saturation magnetization of 2.4 × 10−1 emu/g and a coercive field of 369 Oe. Furthermore, with the increase of Mn2+ ions doping concentration, the luminescence intensity of the sample decreases in both UV and visible regions, and slight blueshift in the visible light regions was observed. The theoretical results presented obvious spin polarization near the Fermi level, with strong Mn 3d and O 2p hybridization effects. The magnetic moments were mainly generated by Mn 3d and partial contribution of O 2p orbital electrons. Therefore, the Mn‐ZnO nanowire microsphere can be used as a potential magneto‐optical material....
